BEAR’S DEN kick off UK & Irish tour tonight & release new video for ‘LAUREL WREATH’ – Watch Now

Bear’s Den today release the new video for latest single ‘Laurel Wreath’. The track is taken from their third studio album, ‘So that you might hear me,’ which is set for release on April 26^th.

The new video was shot in the Marzahn-hellensdorf neighbourhood of Berlin, which is a neighbourhood that is both home to many immigrants to Germany, but also a stronghold of the far right. It features local actors from an East Berlin housing centre for refugees and, like the track, explores the idea of loneliness, with the cast living their lives blindfolded, only able to remove them within the confines of their own homes.

Brazilian director duo ‘Jungle’ said of the new video;  “When we were sent the brief, the last scene immediately came to our minds: layers and layers of people stashed above each other separated by 50cm walls. People living their lives in the private cubicles they call home, willingly unaware of each other. Paying a price for their individuality.  A dreamlike reality where people embodied their isolation through blindfolds.”

Much like its predecessors ‘Fuel On The Fire’ and ‘Blankets of Sorrow’, ‘Laurel Wreath’ reminds the listener how organic, intimate and deeply moving this new long-player is set out to be.

‘So that you might hear me‘ is the follow-up to 2016’s ‘Red Earth and Pouring Rain’ and the band’s silver-selling debut album, ‘Islands’ (2014), which earned them an Ivor Novello nomination in the UK and a devoted following worldwide. Their fans have embraced them for their ability to create music that has evolved from the processes to which the pair have had to adapt.; “No one listens to music in boxes anymore, so why make it like that? Our songs incorporate all sorts of sounds, but not in a pre-ordained way,” says vocalist Andrew Davie. “We just try to go where each song suggests.”
