They’ve just played a sold out show on the ‘Breaking Out’ stage for Liverpool Music Week, presented by DIY. Now Colour have made their new track ‘Shattered’ available to stream. Hailing from all across the North of England, a combination of classified ads and friends’ recommendations ultimately brought the band together. Although a guitar band at heart, Colour use the instrument in a different way to most northern indie bands, owing more to Everything Everything or Foals than Oasis.

Collectively travelling over 300 miles a week to rehearse, this is a band whose dedicated work ethic is plain to see. Favouring a DIY approach, they spent over a year in the studio honing the sound before taking it to the stage, producing everything from their own artwork to videos and captivating a local fan base along the way.
To date, every single Colour gig has sold out, generating rave reviews from local BBC Radio DJs and Music Blogs, hailing the band as an exciting new direction in guitar music. This burst of activity earned the band the Merseyside Arts Foundation fund and named them BBC Introducing ‘Band of the Year 2014.’
Last month Colour premiered their first track ‘Strangers’ on Clash Music. Recorded in Liverpool’s Parr St Studios (notably where Coldplay recorded their first ever demos – the same piano used on The Scientist still sits in the room), the track was put together in a flurry of frenetic energy after singer James recorded a rehearsal on his phone, capturing the seeds of the song.
