Pesky are a seven piece from Cumbria made up of 10-12 year olds and they’ve just released their debut track Keep Me from their forthcoming ep Smells Like Tween Spirit which, I have to say, is really rather good. The track has a punky exuberance that I’m delighted to hear kids that age have and it brings to mind the likes of Lush with its swirling guitars and vocal harmonies.
It’s definitely a track worth hearing and, for people who simply weren’t alive when shoegaze first came around (think of that!), Pesky have grasped the genre, added a pop sheen to it and produced a rather wonderful summer track.”
